I created this series of apparel designs for ʻŌiwi Oceangear as a student project with the idea of Laʻau Lapaʻau, or traditional medical practice of the Ancient Hawaiians utilizing plant based medicines.
The three plants I came across most in my research as the most commonly used were the ʻAwapuhi (Ginger root), the Noni, and Ulu.
